Driverless buses are small with space for 10-15 passengers and run at speeds up to 20 kmph. They are expected to become smarter and safer once 5G telecom technology rolls out. Singapore and Las Vegas have already carried out trials. Sydney, Helsinki and Okinawa will start trials later this year. Trials are on in Estonia’s capital Tallinn. France has a lead in the field with two bus makers Easymile and Navya.
