The Cree Exclamation of Awe of the Continental Divide: Yoho

Why :

I stopped there to visit less crowded places. It’s a smaller park than the others and there’s many things to see there, and a lot of waterfalls. I didn’t sleep there, just spent one day looking at the beauty surrounding you.

It’s a good place to stop on the way to Lake Louise. We slept in a wilderness hostel called Mosquito Creek, so no shower, no electricity, but it was ok for 1-2-3 night, not more because you can’t take a shower in the river a few meters further.

What :

The first stop we did was called «meeting of the waters confluent », it’s on the way to some Falls, on a corner.

A bit hidden but it was nice to see the Ohio River and Kicking Horse River melting, because each river has her own color! Don’t hesitate to go down  and climb some rocks to do some pictures!

An amazing falls is Takakkaw Falls, you really must go there, and there was almost nobody when we went there.

Another good stop is the Emerald Lake. There you can do some kayak and hikes, there’s hotels and restaurant too and a lot of Chinese people. It’s a good spot to eat something.

On your way back from Emerald Lake, make a quick stop to Natural Bridge. It’s super impressive!

The places I went to :

We only spent times around those 4 places ;

  • Meeting of the Waters confluent
  • Takakkaw Falls
  • Emerald Lake
  • Natural Bridge
