Vancouver Islands Pacific Rim: Hollywood North

Why :

I really wanted to spend sometimes on this beautiful island. We decided to do the trip to the other side of the island, in Ucluelet, near Tofino, less crowded and cheaper. Chilling, hiking, surfing, sun tanning…

What :

The trip to the island is nice because you haver to take a ferry… but it’s expensive… 160 CAD single and return. You can see whale, dolphins and other sea creatures if you’re lucky. Don’t hesitate to do a tour on a boat to see whales and friends. We did it ten years ago and it was awesome.

There’s giant trees on the way there, it’s so dinosaurs style that’s you must stop. It’s on the way.

Surfing is amazing. The weather is cold, so you have to wear a suit. We didn’t do it because of the weather, but it’s quiet cheap, less than 100 CAD for 3-4 hours of lessons.

Pacific Rim Trail in Ucluelet is awesome, and you can go to the lighthouse too. It takes you something like 3-4 hours, so take water.

There’s many beaches, we went to Florencia Bay and Long Beach, which was amazingly long so the name suits it.

The places I went to :

  • Giant Trees, don’t remember the exact name
  • Pacific Rim Trail
  • Torino, nice but not awesome as expected, maybe we went to the wrong places!
  • Ucluelet Harbor
  • Long Beach
  • Florencia Bay
  • The hostel at the entrance of Ucluelet, chill ambiance, nice place to stay but beds were ok, not good.
