  1. This is the first time I’m hearing about Welfies! Ha, now I’m definitely learning something new 🙂 I do see a lot more people posting fitness images while traveling – it’s great that we can incorporate more of a healthy lifestyle wherever we may go!

  2. I like the idea. Exercise relaxes our bodies and makes us feel more rested, to be honest. So if you’re going to take a break might as well exercise while you’re traveling. I like it.

  3. Haha, I’ve never heard welfie before! Some people must be more motivated than me.Working out is the last thing I do on vacation lol

  4. Haha, I’ve not heard of a Welfie before! I am prone to exercising, on longer trips, and even on small holidays sometimes, maybe I should start taking photos as I do, join the revolution!

  5. I didn’t know what a ‘Welfie’ was called, but I have surely seen them. I agree with the article, more and more people are paying attention to what they eat while on vacation and they also try to keep up with their usual fitness routines. The travel industry is noticing too, and as an example, the Westin hotel chains now have a gear lending program, where guests can rent running shoes and workout shoes for around $5.00 USD.

  6. Yoga retreats and ayurvedic holidays are getting very popular in my country India. They are a good mix of wellness with relaxation. I love the term “welfie”, heard it first time.

  7. Activation, Welfie .. Wow! Learning new terms today, but I love this concept. Even for me, travel and fitness go together.

  8. I am guilty of taking welfies! Looking good in pictures is one of things that motivate me to workout!

  9. Welfies? Well, that’s a new one on me! But there’s nothing as good as keeping fit on a daily basis even when you are travelling. Best of all you get to meet other fitness people and take all the instagrammable shots…win-win!

  10. Admittedly, I’m not one to seek out classes or group exercise activities on vacation, but have thought about looking into things like free outdoor yoga and similar things in the future. My main exercise on vacation comes from walking…everywhere!!

  11. This ‘welfie’ term is a new trend to get viral about. It sounds fantastic!

  12. It is the first time I heard the term Welfie! But, I think it is interesting to see people jumping into this new trend. Have to admit I do not exercise (in the traditional way) when I travel. Last time I went to Europe, I did 12 to 15 miles of walking per day. After something like that, I think I exercised enough!

  13. I didn’t know about the term Welfies! Though I do prefer going to a yoga class or pilates if I’m going for a resort vacation! Otherwise, I explore most of the places in the vicinity by walking on my trips!

  14. I have never heard of a welfie either. Glad to hear that more people are trying to stay in shape though. Americans are generally overweight and eat too much, hoping the age of millennial will be better health advocates.

  15. I definitely agree on this article, these days a lot of people workout outside, like including yoga, pilates, boxing and more. And at the same time take photos and upload on instagram, it’s an interesting trend but definitely gives me motivation to workout!

  16. I have never heard of the term welfies before, it sounds great. Motivating and inspiring others with a welfie, sounds great.

I never heard of this “Welfie” before. Good to know that this is a workout selfie, I think I need to try this Welfie for me to start working out.! great article!

  18. This is the first time I have heard of the Welfie… Although when I am huffing and puffing while doing my exercise, I don’t think it would make a great photo 😉

  19. I’ve never heard about Welfies before. I don’t think I’d make a great photo working out haha.

  20. I’ve never heard of Welfie, but I’m intetested in learning more as I began my fitness journey

  21. haha now that’s a trend I wouldn’t complain about. For the first time I might actually say it’s a good trend. plus Welfie is a catchy word.

That’s true and also physical activities are fun while traveling because you got to try and experience different stuff in different places!

  23. I can’t say I’ve ever heard of Welfies, but I’ve definitely done fitness-based vacations. (Destination half marathon races are a ton of fun!) I’ve wanted to do some more serious fitness vacations as well like a running tour or biking tour of a region. And hiking tours are the absolute best 😉 But even when I’m not doing a fitness-based vacation I still make a point to go on a run in the place I’m visiting – it’s amazing what you can see when you are running in a new (to you) place!

  24. I’ve never heard of this. Seems interesting. I’ve been making a lifestyle change lately with the way I eat and exercise, so this is something I might need to look into.

  25. I’ve never heard of this before! Definitely interesting.

  26. Thanks for sharing this. I’ve never heard of it, but it’s definitely something I’m going to look into.

  27. This is the first time I’m hearing about Welfies. i like the idea thou is def intersting

  28. This is the first time I am hearing of the term Welfie too and I like it. Its a beneficial trend to be part of as wellness is always a good thing.

  29. I do have a lot of workout selfie. I like that it’s trending since it can really encourage people to workout.

  30. So great to travel but sucks when you can barely keep up with your workouts due to being in a new environment.

  31. I`ve noticed this trend as well. I didn`t know there were actual terms for them. It`s great to know. This trend seems more positive as it promotes health, fitness, and wellness than just mere vanity.
